Kids locked out

I really must take more photos. I came home from work on Monday afternoon to find that Granny and the kids had locked themselves out of the house. This wouldn't have been such a drama if they hadn't just been to the beach (which is 4 minutes walk away) and come home frozen. Apparently there was weeping and wailing and much despair, until they raided the clothesline and got layered up. By layered up, I mean that they were wearing multiple underpants on their heads, and their father's T shirts, mothers socks etc. over whatever clothes of their own they found on the line. It was highly picture worthy, but I didn't think to take a photo.
Fortunately by the time I got home they had decided it was an adventure, not a disaster.

Miriam forgot to include the fact that we had a circus. We had acrobats, tightrope walkers (on a line on the new tiled floor)and fire-breathers (mimed, of course) but there was a lot of cheering! It reminds me to tell you also of the cat school lessons we often have. Today, we had stretching exercises, stalking practice (on all fours), vertical leaping, which was a part of learning how to catch butterflies. We also practised pouncing after a short stalk, and walking on the top of a fence which is a very delicate matter. First we put down a toilet-paper fence line, with cushions where the posts would be. Then this exercise required a leap from the couch to the top of the fence, followed by a slow and careful walkon all fours. Fortunately, Hannah is good at getting her own sticky tape so was able to repair disasters.
Next time I'll tell you about conducting cat flying lessons. These three are graduates!
