Today Leila got a certificate from Mrs Bailey complimenting her on her imaginative efforts using the letter B. Apparently they had to draw three things beginning with B and Leila really went to town (couldn't stop at 3).
I'm starting to get the "just watch me and I'll fly" feeling about Leila's reading. She's on the brink, and about to take off. I remember when Bethany did the same thing: I suddenly noticed that all her little brain was putting all the pieces together. It was totally awe inspiring to realise that the foundation was set, primed and unstopable, and then just stand back and watch as it all just magically happened. Love it love it love it.
Apparently at school music today Leila blew her cover (she may only be about 15kg but it's all Diva). My version is 3rd hand - the story was passed through 2 teachers and then reported to Granny who passed it on to Damien and I:
The prep kiddies were being taught a song and Leila (who was playing the xylophone) pretty much took charge. She pointed out mistakes that the teacher was making in simplifying the melody, showed him the proper note sequence (he apologised) and was overtly at ease with being center stage.
I hope that all the teachers love her little personality as much as I do...

I can totally see Leila correcting her Music teacher. HOW FUNNY! She looks a strange combination of very grown up in her uniform, and somehow so very little.
Love you
Very exciting!! I remember bits from prep, and I really do hope she totally takes off :-)
