I'm doing better, except for my bench of doom, but even that gets properly clean far more frequently now.

I reckon if you have running hot water, and a sink that you don't need to bail, an oven, a fridge and room for a chopping board you are laughing! I also think it is great to make decisions knowing your work habits etc.
My kitchen fantasies mostly involve benches and sinks at the right height for girls with long legs. I like deeeep sinks too.
