These hairdos on Leila and Beth took way too much time, but they were a source of entertainment for me during the holidays.
I tried to do it on myself then, but it seems to be impossible to swap our arms over when you reach the opposite side of your head. I think it would really need an assistant to pull off properly.
This one is easier. It is just a ponytail twisted into a rope braid and then wrapped up cinnamon style with 4 super pins (bent knitting needles work well) holding it all together.

Have you tried a cameo bun? Divide you hair into two sections, from one ear to the other across the top of your head. CinnaBun the top 1/2, then tip your head upside down, and centering the loose hair, braid staring tight against the scalp next to the previously bunned hair. Then wrap your braid around the perimeter of the first bun.
