I found a pattern I really liked, and tried to copy it. This meant more sewing software, but then I wasn't happy with the first bodice, and actually forked out money on a paper pattern. That worked fine, until the girls put the dresses on and off a few times, and I discovered that the double georgette didn't like being serged into a narrow seam allowance and kept splitting.
My back-up plan took some major running around. The two littlest girls got matching lacy old-world type dresses for Christmas (from Best-n Less would you believe). I had bought the matching skirt and cut it up to make flutter sleeves.
I was able to order a size 7 for Bethany, and pulled off the sleeve trick again. Here is the result:

So glad each of the girls felt included in an appropriate way. The dresses look really nice... a Leila melt down over this issue would have been terrifying!
