But back to banana bread: I have a recipe that is great for dead bananas and makes a good muffin or a loaf that you can slice, freeze, toast and butter... mmm. And it is low fat too. I'm posting this for the cute memory photos, but also to tell you about todays great idea: I cut a hole in a shower cap and put it over the mixing bowl and would you believe it, I avoided covering half the kitchen in a fine layer of flour. Hooray!!! Now why did it take me a couple of decades to think of that?

Banana Bread
I had a work-your-socks off day today - I even cleaned the oven! Although I have to confess that since Damien set fire to the old one, and the insurance people delivered my new beastie, all I have to do is wipe it out with a good cloth. I didn't even gas myself, so I can't really brag all that much.
Before I wiped out my oven Hannah and I made Banana Bread. Note the ballerina costume: she dragged me off the phone (to Matthew - who has just returned from Christmas Island) to get me to find it and put it on. I was able to ring Matthew back and have a conversation by putting dancing music on in the kitchen. If we significantly change the music she races to the dress-up box for another outfit that better suits the new music. She's adorable.
I'm so glad I found that tutu. It sooo belongs at your house, 'twas destiny!
Love the shower cap idea. Banana's never last long enough at our house to be banana bread worthy.
