It is always an effort to keep Hannah entertained during the big girls music lessons. This is part of the reason why I have now enrolled her in her own class for 2 year olds. Here is Hannah playing the Kawai piano with headphones on so that she is entertained, and the class is not. On the "concert magic" setting you can thump out whatever notes you like and it sounds beautiful. This worked for a good third of the lesson time, which is pretty good going. After whatever activities I've brought along have lost their interest Hannah and I struggle. Sometimes we have success with the "underneath the water" game on my lap (tipping her upside down, or even somersaulting off my lap). Sometimes she plays with Bethany and a few other children waiting around outside the classroom (playing with the plants and flowers, any wandering cats or crickets etc.).
You can see Leila in the next photo. Poor Leila gets a bit distracted by Hannah.
After music lessons this week we went to Risdon Brook Dam and went for a long walk with the cousins. We even saw a wallaby! You have to look closely, but you can see it at the right hand side of the path in the photo below.
I brought along my kid-carrying back back and my double seater pram/bike trailer so the kids could take turns at resting. It was hard work pushing the pram up the hills, but at least I feel like I got some proper exercise. My girls all wanted to hold Mariah's hand (once she, Lewis and Jordan had all finished running a lap around the dam). Somehow she figured out how to hold 3 girls hands all at once, and still walk. Amazing. Hannah also had a turn holding Sophie's hand, and was very communicative and grown up when I offered her my hand instead "actually" (big word in a baby voice) "I'd rather hold cousin Sophie's hand".
We had banana bread back at the car, and then went home for a very simple supper and bed.
Other highlights from the week include watching Hannah playing with her reflection and shadow.
