Damien's home

He's back!
And he's VERY tired.
Damien arrived home at about 10am on Saturday. The big girls were at ballet and Tap rehearsals, so it was just Hannah and I who collected him.
We still haven't seen all his photos. The older girls couldn't wait to see their presents (they have been a bit preoccupied with the possibility of exotic gifts I'm afraid). They were very excited about his return. Beth was disappointed she didn't get to go to the airport too, and little Leila's teacher told me all about how excited she had been on Friday in anticipation of Daddy's return. It's true, Leila was just dancing at the very idea.
He brought some zippered purses/pencil cases made of amazing woven exotic fabric, and some tricky tops on strings. They also got decorative pens and a tool for making elaborate circle patterns.
I couldn't believe it when he showed me my gift, and was also amazed at how well he had haggled the prices down (apparently he is a natural at haggling, and did it all in Turkish too). I have some gorgeous pashmina scarves, some new jewellery and a knee length, classic black leather jacket. Totally spoiled!
We kept Damien awake with a visit to his favourite fish shop. He had delegated to Bethany the job of feeding our siclid tank, and she had used up all the food.
I was hanging out to watch Dr Who with him, but he fell asleep before it finished. Wonderful to have those arms around me again.

There is definately something about feeling those arms around you when you've been apart from your loved one for lengthy periods. So wonderful to hear how excited everyone was.

Good to hear that you were spoiled, you really deserved it. Just had a thought of you in the gorgeous leather jacket, your long knee lenght boots and one of your new beautiful scarfs - good look. Of course you'll need some other essential items: skirt, jeans, anything....would be a bonus.

Hope Damien recovers from lack of sleep and physical exhaustion soon. Looking forward to catching up in time.xx

So glad he's home! Should pester him into writing up a report on his trip from his point of view and chuck in a couple of photos - I hear there's over 1500 to sort through? =D

Presents are always lovely to have! And for looking after the fort while he's been away, I think you all deserved a little treat.
