Secondly, I have been finding the girls drawers quite demoralizing of late. They have been SO rummaged and tangled, despite all my efforts with the washing (it is all fresh, lovingly folded and clean when I put it in the drawers).
Storing their half eaten chocolate Easter items in their pajama drawers wasn't one exactly the best housekeeping idea (Hannah got into it too: never store chocolate in a low drawer).
I bore with it for a while, and just stacked the new neat stuff on top of the existing mess, but I finally bit the bullet, cleaning everything out and making drawer dividers using a stanley knife, my quilting ruler and cutting mat. I've got about 3 drawers to go now, and I think the problem will be largely resolved. Hmm, probably time I un-rummaged MY drawers too...
By the way, I couldn't help but think about Libby's mice while writing this. I guess I shouldn't complain about rummaged clothes with chocolate on them, when she is dealing with unwelcome visitors in the beds, drawers and cupboards. Hope you don't mind Libby!

I love this quote Mim and it looks beautiful too. It is good to have reminders up around the house just to keep us focussed. I've actually been thinking about this myself.
I love the way you are continually working hard to find solutions to the things that really bug you. I think your girls will be in awe of you one day when they are grown and have families of their own.xx
Totally dig the idea of the shelves. Perhaps today I will post about our storage situation in our room. Any suggestions I think will be lovely at this stage because it all gets a little annoying when a certain someone throws his clothing where-ever it lands on the shelf.
If I had draws I would pinch that idea!
I had been using baskets as drawers on shelves Deb... really nice baskets... but now I am not. too easy for the mice to get inside. I'm also having a problem with some of our drawers that have holes for handles, rather than knobs... cos the mice like those too...
I'd love it if you made me one of those "stolen from 71toes" canvasses too... hint hint!
Don't despair Debbie, it remains to be seen how well the girls go putting clean things consistently into those awesome new divisions!
It was lovely to come home today to see Joe had brought in the linen off the line. Yet I still was the one to make the bed up again... and make dinner... haha! I still love the silly man :)
Pehaps I can trian him?!
love it! and yep 71 toes...so amazing
